Orange tea cake

I’m all for decadent chocolate cakes or layers of cake in between buttercream 🤤, but sometimes I also really just want a slice of a good moist (ups), fruity cake that pairs perfectly with a nice hot cup of tea. ⠀
I love ordering both in nice little cafés to read books or people watch buuuut since that’s not happening anytime soon I had my afternoon tea + cake moment at home today. 🏠 ⠀

I made an orange cake in a loaf pan and topped it off with lemon glaze and candied orange bits🍊 . It was D E L I C I O U S. ⠀

Here’s the recipe: ⠀
•250 gr. cake flour⠀
•1 tsp. baking powder⠀
•200 gr. butter (room temp.)⠀
•200 gr. granulated sugar⠀
•1 tsp. salt⠀
•3 eggs⠀
•1 egg yolk ⠀
•120 gr. plain yogurt⠀
•1 tbsp. vanilla extract⠀
•Juice from 1 orange ⠀
•Zest of two oranges ⠀

1. Cream butter, sugar and salt for 1 minute on medium speed. ⠀
2. Add eggs + yolk, one at a time and mix well after each one. ⠀
3. Add yogurt, orange juice, zest and vanilla. ⠀
4. Sift flour with baking powder. ⠀
5. Add half of the flour mixture on low speed or by hand, once incorporated, add the other half. ⠀
6. Bake at 180ºC for 20 min. or until a stick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. ⠀
